World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10 to raise awareness
about the importance of mental wellness for all. This year’s theme — “Mental Health is a
Universal Human Right” — reminds us that access to mental health care, support, and
understanding is something every person deserves.
At Flourishing Minds Wellness Center, we live this mission daily. From children in our
after-school program to adults in our recovery and therapy services, we see firsthand
how mental health impacts every area of life.
Why It Matters
Young people today face growing stress from academics, social media, and life
transitions. Simple acts of connection — listening without judgment, checking in,
offering a safe space — can make a life-changing difference.
How We Celebrate Mental Health Every Day
Our programs integrate therapy, mentoring, and creative expression to help participants
flourish. From journaling and mindfulness sessions to Wellness Wednesdays and
community workshops, we encourage open dialogue around emotions and coping skills.
What You Can Do
Start a mental health check-in with your child or friend
Share positive affirmations on social media
Attend a community wellness event
Take a mental health day to recharge
When we create a culture that values emotional wellness, we empower everyone to
bloom where they are planted.
