Holistic Wellness
FMWC is dedicated to providing quality wellness for the mind, body and soul through a Holistic approach. FMWC has implemented different holistic modalities to help treat mental health and addiction and lead to a better quality of life. Clients have access to our Holistic on-site groups including but not limited to yoga therapy, meditation therapy, and reiki.
Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is a holistic therapy that takes a whole-body approach to
health. Yoga therapists use yogic breathing and stretching techniques, chosen based on an individual's health care needs, to help the body heal. Individual assessments are critical, as two individuals presenting with the same medical issue could have very different complicating factors or histories and thus require different yoga practices. Yoga therapy
has been used with great success as a therapy to help those with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and drug dependency. The physical and mental benefits of yoga are a great accompaniment to more traditional therapies that one finds at Flourishing Minds Wellness Center, LLC.
Mediation Therapy
Meditation therapy is “a method of relaxation and consciousness
expansion by focusing on a mantra or a keyword, sound, or image while eliminating outside stimuli from one’s awareness” (Mosby’s Medical Dictionary, 2009). There are many types of meditation that FMWC offers. Examples include mindfulness, body scan, loving-kindness, walking, Zen, mantra, and transcendental meditations. They can be further categorized into insight or calming and guided or unguided. In the world of
meditation, there is an approach for everyone.
Reiki
Reiki enhances your overall well-being by assisting in the reduction of stress,
anxiety, and depression, as well as chronic pain. This calming methodology can help in addiction recovery by bringing energy balance into the body, de-stressing the mind and spirit, and providing a greater sense of control. Often, it can make you feel more centered and capable of meeting the challenges and demands of life more effectively. This non-invasive technique, used in conjunction with other healing therapies, allows you to become the observer, rather than the participant, in your trauma. This can help one to more clearly understand past behaviors or unresolved issues without being blocked by fear.
