June 27 marks National PTSD Awareness Day, a time to recognize the impact of
trauma and the importance of healing. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can
affect anyone — from veterans and first responders to survivors of violence, accidents,
or loss.
At Flourishing Minds Wellness Center, we know that trauma doesn’t define a person —
it’s part of their story, not the end of it.
️Recognizing the Signs
PTSD can look different for everyone. Some may experience flashbacks, anxiety, or
avoidance, while others struggle with sleep, concentration, or mood changes.
Recognizing these signs helps us approach others with empathy instead of judgment.
Our Trauma-Informed Approach
Our therapists and staff are trained to create safe spaces where clients feel seen and
supported. Through therapy, peer support, and wellness activities, we help individuals
rebuild trust, confidence, and stability.
Ways to Support
Listen with compassion — without trying to “fix”
Encourage professional help and community resources
Practice grounding exercises and self-care
Remind survivors that healing is possible
Every person deserves a chance to recover, reconnect, and flourish — and our
community plays a vital role in making that possible.
